PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily adjust the reclining of a seat part while reinforcing a leg body without adding any new member by connecting the lower terminal parts of rear leg elements of a chair having four legs with a connecting member, and supporting the lower end part of a gas spring for inclining the rear end of the seat part on this connecting member. SOLUTION: Lower end parts 12a of rear leg elements 12 in left and right leg frames 10 are connected to each other with a rear connecting member 6, and the lower end of a gas spring 8 for regulating the inclination of a seat part 2 and a backrest 3 is supported on this rear connecting member 6. Namely, the rear connecting member 6 is formed from a round steel pipe or the like, and a lower end part 8b of the gas spring 8 is supported at a top end part 9b of a supporting bracket 9 fixed at the central part of this connecting member. Thus, the gas spring 8 can be appropriately supported without adding any new member and without damaging the strength of a leg body 1, the stroke of the gas spring 8 can be kept much longer and the side of the rear end 2b of the seat part 2 can be stably inclined.
