Apparatus for reducing a pipe end comprises a table 9, supporting tool 11b, and a tool carrier 7, carrying tool 11a, which is movable vertically downwards by piston 3 and in so moving engages tools 12a, 12b and moves them horizontally inwards. Head 8 of cylinder 2 is fixed and piston 3 is connected to carrier 7 by rod 4 and cylinder 1. A pipe end rests on tool 11b, and as carrier 7 descends rollers 13 engage cam heads 14, 15 of tools 12a, 12b, tools 12a, 12b being withdrawn again before tool 11a engages the pipe end. |
