The invention relates to an energy dispersive diffraction arrangement comprising a receiving means (12) for receiving a sample (13). Said sample is irradiated by an excitation source (11) with particles or radiation having a polychromatic spectrum. A low temperature effect based detector (14) detects the particles or radiation emitted by the sample. Said detector consists of a sensor unit comprising a sensor and an absorber and a cooling unit for adjusting an operating temperature range of the sensor component. Low temperature effect based detectors, also referred to as cryodetectors or cryogenic detectors, are detectors that measure the energy accumulated by the absorption of radiation or particles by using an effect that occurs only or especially at low temperatures (smaller than 20 K). Examples of such cryogenic detectors which have a good energy resolution are supraconducting phase transition thermometers, supraconducting channel diodes or NTD thermometers. |
