PURPOSE: A dehumidification apparatus for air conditioner is provided to allow a user to enjoy an improved comfort indoor environment and to reduce noise during dehumidification operation by mounting a dehumidification vane at the outlet port formed within the indoor unit. CONSTITUTION: A step motor and upper and lower vanes(17) are mounted at an outlet port(15) formed within the main body of indoor unit. The step motor rotates selectively in clockwise or counter-clockwise direction in accordance with the control of a controller, and upper and lower vanes rotate in a vertical plane in accordance with the operation of the step motor so as to control air current. A dehumidification vane(19) is coupled to be rotatable to the front of a condensate water tray(16) through a hinge which is made up of an elastic member. The dehumidification vane has at an end thereof a bent piece so as to open/close the lower space between a suction grille(11) and an air filter(13) in accordance with the operation of the hinge. The step motor has a rotation shaft with a protrusion for converting the driving force of the step motor into a moment, and transferring the moment to the dehumidification vane.
