PURPOSE: A robot for inserting a rod assay is provided to improve the productivity by reducing work process time by employing a robot when inserting a rod assay. CONSTITUTION: A robot is composed of: a base frame(12); a robot die(38) installed on the upper portion of the base frame; a robot(34) fixed on the upper portion of the robot die and consisting of many joints to execute the three-dimensional motion; a gripper assay(30) installed on the front portion of the robot to insert a rod(100); a position assay for positioning a base shell(32); a clamping assay(20) for holding the base shell; and a centering assay mounted on the upper portion of the clamping assay to position the center of itself so the rod as to be exactly inserted into the base shell. The interlock is performed in turn by right-position signals of an index table and a conveyer in a centering jig machine when supplying the rod array of the robot.
