PURPOSE: A field emission display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce costs, to simplify the process and to have a low work function and an excellent electron emission capacity. CONSTITUTION: A field emission display device is characterized in an emitter tip emitting electrons to emit fluorescent substance. The emitter tip comprises a conical base tip(16) consisted of metal, an SP2 DLC layer(17) covering the conical base tip(16), and a cesium ion layer(18) covering the SP2 DLC lay(17). The conical tip(16) is a Mo film or a Tn metal film.
