PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing of a white porous polyester film which has improved whiteness, quality and light weight as well as surface smoothness and printing performance. CONSTITUTION: White porous polyester film is produced by the following steps: mixing a 65to 95% by weight of polyester resin impregnated an inorganic fine particle with 5 to 35% by weight of polyolefin resin to prepare a resin mixture; adding 0.2 to 3.0% by weight of polyethylene copolymer which is grafted to at least one selected from glycidylmethacrylate, methacrylate and vinyl acetate to the first mixture; and melting, extruding and elongating the mixture. The polyester resin comprises polypropyleneterephthalate, polybutyleneterephthalate or mixture thereof. The first resin mixture is mixed to a weight ratio of 95: 5 to 65: 35 of polyester resin to polyolefin resin. The added amount of inorganic fine particle is 0.1 to 10% by weight. Thereby, it is possible to improve the whiteness, film quality and light weight by using the white porous polyester film.
