Reversal of the flow, for cleaning, through a filter 43, Fig. 1 (not shown), to a swimming pool 47 is effected by a multiple-way valve (see Division F2) whereby, in one position, an L-shaped supply passage within a conical closure plug connects a vertical water inlet pipe 40 below the plug to a horizontal pipe 41 leading to the filter 43 and a transfer passage within the plug connects the filter outlet pipe 44 to the supply pipe 46 leading to the pool 47, a housing outlet 48 to waste being closed off by the closure plug. In another position of the closure plug the inlet pipe 40 is connected, by the closure supply passage, to filter outlet pipe 44 to reverse the flow through the filter 43, and the filter inlet pipe 41 is connected by the closure plug transfer passage to the waste outlet 48, the supply pipe to the swimming pool being cut off. |
