PURPOSE: A system clock control unit is provided to output a clock signal adaptable for various structures of a notebook computer by outputting the clock signal necessary for a clock generator and to reduce power consumption by setting unnecessary clock signal off. CONSTITUTION: A system clock control unit comprises: a system controller for searching for a module coupled to a system to perform a specific function in the system; a control signal generator for determining a clock signal to output by the search result of the system controller and accordingly generating a clock control signal; and a clock generator for turning off an unnecessary clock signal of the system and outputting only a necessary clock signal of the system according to the clock control signal from the control signal generator.
