PURPOSE: A magnetic tape and recording/reproducing apparatus is provided to increase an information storing capacity by coating a magnetic material to both sides of a polyester film. CONSTITUTION: Coating layers(11a,11b) are formed to both sides of a polyester film layer(10) for improving an adhesive force with the polyester film layer(10) and magnetic layers(12b). Each magnetic material is coated on coating layers(11a,11b) and magnetic layers(12b) are successively formed in a 'Z' type magnetic tape. Two reproducing heads are installed according to both sides of the 'Z' type magnetic tape. Two reproducing amplifiers amplify signals reproduced in reproducing heads as a certain level. Two reproducing signal processors process output signals of reproducing amplifiers.
