PURPOSE: An elevator type parking system is provided to realize improvement of assembling efficiency cost saving effect by moving a pallet horizontally with single horizontal driving unit, to reduce time for entering and exiting a vehicle by directly moving the pallet when a lift approaches a pallet of a selected story and to prevent displacement of a pallet from a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION: An elevator type parking system comprises: a main frame(100) with plural parking chambers(P) formed at both sides of a hoist way; a lift(200) installed to lift up and down in the hoist way; a pallet(300) installed in each parking chamber to load a vehicle; a lift vertical driving unit; a pallet horizontal driving unit for horizontally moving the pallet from the parking chamber to the hoist way; and a turn table(400) installed at the lowest end of the hoist way. While a vehicle enters or exits the parking system, the horizontal driving unit is engaged with the lift to hoist the lift to a position higher than a pallet of a selected story, to move a vehicle from the lift to a pallet, to move down the lift to a position lower than a pallet of a selected story and to move a vehicle from a pallet to the lift. As the parking system needs single horizontal driving unit, assembling efficiency is improved while production costs are saved. The pallet is moved horizontally before the horizontal unit approaches a position for horizontally moving the pallet. Additionally, direction of the vehicle is changed directly by the turn table. Therefore, time for entering and exiting a vehicle is saved.
