PURPOSE: A booster for an anti-lock brake system and control method thereof is provided to perceive each pressure variation of a front cell and a rear cell of a distributing system of brake by mounting pressure sensors to the front cell and the rear cell, respectively, further to perceive an actuating speed of a brake pedal by the pressure variations. CONSTITUTION: A booster for an anti-lock brake system and control method thereof perceives the pressures of a front chamber(21) and a rear chamber(22) each having a pressure sensor(81,82), respectively. Through the perceived pressures, a pressure variation rate and a pressure difference of the front chamber(21) and the rear chamber(22) is calculated. The pressure sensors(81,82) are electrically connected to the ABS. If the calculated pressure variation rate exceeds a reference pressure variation and the pressure difference exceeds a reference pressure difference, the ABS system decides as an emergency situation, thereby more precisely perceive a sudden stop of a driver in case of emergency.
