PURPOSE: An apparatus for restoring a symbol timing of an OFDM system is provided to correspond a position of an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) window to an effective symbol section of an OFDM system exception a protection section. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for restoring a symbol timing of an OFDM system includes a decimator(21), a delaying part(22), a complex conjugate(23), a complex multiple part(24), and a sliding integration part(25). The decimator is to decimate a signal quantized by an OFDM sample transmission rate with a sample spacing of a decimation degree. The delaying part delays an output of the decimation as a length of the effective symbol section. The complex conjugate is to find a complex conjugate value of a signal outputted in the delaying part. The complex multiple part is to multiply the decimator by an output signal of the complex conjugate. The sliding integration part is to accumulate and add an output of the complex multiple part each sample number extent of the protection section.
