PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely and accurately communicate data while suppressing unnecessary noise without adding any extra device. SOLUTION: The card reader 1 is so constituted that a card 3 inserted into a card insertion slot 2 is taken in by a card conveying means a and data are read or written in the card reader 1. In this case, when the card 3 is a noncontact type IC card, a reader-side transmitting and receiving antenna part 5 which can send and receive data to and from a card-side transmitting and receiving antenna part provided to the noncontact type IC card is provided in the card reader 1, and only the transmission and reception of data of the noncontact type IC card are performed while the card conveying means 4 stops as to the transmission and reception of data between the card-side transmitting and receiving antenna part of the card 3 and the reader-side transmitting and receiving antenna part 5. |
