METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING NAME OF BROADCASTING STATION ACCORDING TO CHANGE OF CHANNEL IN EDITING MODE

PURPOSE: A method for recognizing a name of a broadcasting station is to properly update the name of a broadcasting station as basic information using PDC(program delivery code)/VPS(video programmable system) data. CONSTITUTION: A method for recognizing a name of a broadcasting station comprises steps of: determining whether a present mode is an editing mode when TV is turned on(302S,303S); continuously determining whether a channel is changed during performing a program editing function such as an image editing and a sound editing and so forth in an editing mode(304S); detecting a PDC in a selected channel when the channel is changed(305S); detecting the name of the broadcasting station from the PDC if a detecting of the PDC is completed and then storing and displaying the name of the broadcasting station(306S,307S); and continuously performing an update of the name of the broadcasting station according to the change of the channel until the TV is turned off(308S).
