Electrophotographic apparatus comprises means for charging an electrophotosensitive surface, exposure means including a high-intensity electronic flash unit for producing an electrostatic latent image on the charged surface, and a developing unit including a container for a liquid developer and a roller device for subjecting the latent image to the liquid developer. The electrophotosensitive surface may be supported on a member which is advanced through the apparatus and exposure of the charged surface is effected as the member is moved past the flash lamp. The liquid developer is applied to the latent-image bearing surface by passage between a developing roller partially immersed in the developer and a backing roller.
