PURPOSE: A method for searching channels in a high speed is provided to perform channel searches in a high speed, by checking whether signals for a currently tuned channel exist as each window unit, and by positively tuning the signals. CONSTITUTION: A method for searching channels in a high speed comprises the steps of: tuning channels in a predetermined order when a channel searching mode is set up; detecting a pilot signal in intermediate frequency of each window, having predetermined frequency Scopes for the tuned channels; finding out an exact location of tuning frequency in the frequency Scopes of the each window, where the pilot signal is detected, and memorizing a channel of a signal having a digital format with information on the location.
