PURPOSE: A system and a method are provided to convert 5-channel audio data into 2-channel audio data and play-back the 2-channel audio through a headphone. CONSTITUTION: A system for converting 5-channel audio data into 2-channel audio data and playing-back the 2-channel audio through a headphone includes a first filter part(210), a second filter part(220), a time-multiplexing part, and a mixer(240). The first filter part(210) convolutes transmission functions for generating audio data outputting from each channel except for a central channel and virtual sound sources on each channel. The second filter part(220) convolutes transmission functions for generating audio data outputting from the central channel and virtual sound sources on the central channel. The mixer(240) mixes the sound sources from the first and second filter parts(210,220) such that right sources are mixed with each other and left sources are mixed with each other.
