PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to cut fuel supply through multi-steps to prevent fire caused by fuel leakage after accidents of vehicles. CONSTITUTION: A controller for a vehicle is operated by: detecting the collision between vehicles through signals from a collision sensor(10) and deciding if the impact is higher than the set reference; deciding if the vehicle is stopped through signals from a velocity sensor(20) if the impact is higher than the set reference; outputting signals from a fuel cut valve(40) for fuel if the vehicle is stopped; delaying the output of the signals from the fuel cut valve until the vehicle is stopped if the vehicle is traveling; and outputting signals to stop pumping fuel to a fuel pump(50) and outputting signals to stop spraying fuel to a fuel sprayer(60) after outputting the signals from the fuel cut valve. Therefore, the controller prevents fire caused by fuel leakage if a collision accidents occurs.
