PURPOSE: A device for controlling power of overhead channels with a CDMA(Cord Division Multiple Access) forward link is provided to give a stable capacity of a handoff and higher capacities of telephone traffic and assurance quality, by appropriately adjusting forward link coverage of base stations in a CMA system, according to a mobile communication environment and traffic strength. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling power of overhead channels with a CDMA(Cord Division Multiple Access) forward link comprises a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network, an MSC(Mobile Switch Center), a plurality of base stations, a BSC(Base Station Controller), a BSM(Base Station Manager), and a power controller. The MSC plays a switching role between other MSC and the PSTN. The plurality of base stations plays a relaying role between a mobile station and the BSC(Base Station Controller). The BSC controls the base stations. The BSM manages all call processing blocks in the base stations and the BSC. The power controller receives signals from the base stations, measures the strength of pilot channels of each base station and the amount of traffic, and controls the transmission power strength of the overhead channels of each base station on the basis of the measured strength and amount.
