PURPOSE: A multimedia middle ware provides a convenience to a user at an application program drawing by constructing the middle ware so as to process continuous media of a stream type efficiently and systematically. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia middle ware comprises abstractions, a part(106,107) for realizing interfaces defining at the abstractions, an objected request broker(108). The abstractions draws a multimedia application program at a distributed processing system, and includes a virtual device(102), a stream connection(103), a group(104) and a multi cast stream connection(105). The objected request broker(108) transfers control data between an abstraction object and an application component object. The virtual device(102) abstracts an actual hardware as an object, and the stream connection(103) performs a connection between the virtual devices. The group(104) groups the virtual devices to control the grouped virtual devices, and the multi cast stream connection(105) performs a multiple connection between the virtual devices.
