PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load of program preparation for network management in a controller equipped with programmable logic controllers A1, B1, and C1 with which a device such as an equipment to be controlled or a sensor is connected, display devices A2, B2, and C2 corresponding to them, and host computer for controlling them. SOLUTION: Not PLC A1, B2, and C1 with relatively low arithmetic processing capabilities in a conventional manner but display devices A2, B2, and C2 with relatively high arithmetic processing capabilities and high data communication propriety are connected with a host computer 11, and the PLC A1, B2, and C1 are operated under the control of the host computer 11 through the display devices A2, B2, and C2 with protocol converting functions. Thus, a communicating state between each PLC A1, B1, and C1 and the display devices A2, B2, and C2 can be grasped by a simple program at the host computer 11 side.
