APPARATUS FOR GENERATION OF VARIABLE SPEED AIR CURTAIN FOR REFRIGERATOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating a variable speed air curtain for a refrigerator is provided to reduce noise and electricity consumption, to improve efficiency and to control the rotation speed of a BLDC(Brushless Direct Current) air curtain fan according to the state of a cooling chamber of a refrigerator. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator having an air curtain generation apparatus(20) is composed of a circulation duct formed along the bottom face of a quadric part, another circulation duct(20) formed on the upper part of a cooling chamber and a cool air vent hole formed on the front end of the circulation duct of the cooling chamber. When a door of the cooling chamber is opened, an air curtain is generated by driving the air curtain generation apparatus installed on the rear of the circulation duct and by supplying cool air into a refrigerator via the cool air vent hole for a certain period. A BLDC air curtain fan(202) consisting of cross flow fan impellers and a BLDC motor blows cool air into the cooling chamber to generate an air curtain in the cooling chamber. The cross flow fan impellers blow cool air generated by an evaporator into the cooling chamber. And the BLDC motor is connected to the cross flow fan impellers and rotates the cross flow fan impellers.
