PURPOSE: An additive for an electroplating bath of zinc-nickel alloy is provided, which can give excellent glossiness and white color degree to an electroplated steel plate of zinc-nickel alloy and improve the deposit rate of nickel of plated layer by improving the roughness of the plated layer. CONSTITUTION: The additive is as follows: 10-25 wt.% of saccharin sodium or kalium, 2-10 wt.% of sodium benzoate or kalium benzoate, 2-80 wt.% of surfactant that has a naphthalene sulfone radical and is made of sodium or kalium salts of condensation reactants and the balance of water, 1.0 mmol per liter -0.1 mol per liter of aryl alcohol being contained in a solution of saccharin sodium or kalium, sodium benzoate or kalium benzoate and surfactants at a weight ratio of 2-4:1:1.5-3.
