PURPOSE: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery is provided to prolong charge/discharge durability, to improve low temperature discharge characteristics, and to increase a reversible capacity of a battery by decreasing a cathode active material and reaction of the electrolyte, accordingly by using an annular carbonate. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery comprises an anode, a cathode, a battery separation layer, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The anode includes a lithium transformation metal oxide in which lithium can reversibly enter or exit. The cathode includes a compound selected from a group, composed of compounds capable of reversibly storing/releasing lithium metal, a lithium alloy, and the lithium. The non-aqueous compound includes more than one kind of formula 1. R1 is CH3 or CH2CH3, R2 is CH3, CH2CH3CH3 or CH(CH3)2 in the formula. |
