PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the IC card reader which simplifies user's operation without any extra operation such as opening and closing of an insertion slot lid or operation of a card lock button and which can normally end a communication when an IC card is extracted. SOLUTION: As the IC card 2 is inserted, a card socket 11 moves while pushed in and then stops on abutting against a rear stopper 13. When the IC card 2 is drawn out, a detection switch 15 is opened and sends a card extraction signal to a control part, and the card socket 11 also moves forward and then stops on abutting against a front stopper 14. While the card socket 11 is moving, the connection between the IC card 2 and the control part of the reader is held and the control part can obtain a temporal margin for normally ending a communication even after the card extraction is detected. |
