PURPOSE: Disclosed is a novel blue azo dye compound having superior colorfastness which is used to dip-dye synthetic fiber such as polyester fiber and acetate fiber. CONSTITUTION: This blue azo dye compound is represented by below chemical formula, wherein R expresses methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl or beta-ethoxyethyl group, X expresses methyl or acetylamino group, A and B expresses methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, ethylene, phenylbenzyl, phenylethyl, methoxy carbonyl methyl or acetoxymethyl group. This novel blue azo dye compound is manufactured by reacting diazo type of 2-amino-5-nitro-3-alkyl thiophene with coupling agent. The mono azo dye compound is dried with a spray drier after manufacturing liquefied dye dispersion liquid by crushing finely to average grading 1μm under water-soluble dispersion body like naphthalene sulfonic acid/formaldehyde condensate, lignin sulfonic acid etc.
