摘要 PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of an optical fiber preform using high purity quartz powder is provided to greatly reduce impurity content such as moisture, be easily manufactured and save costs by forming a clad layer on a core layer formed by an MCVD(Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition) using high purity quartz powder prepared under a plasma atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: First, a primary preform is prepared by attaching a core layer and filling through an MCVD. Then, fine high purity quartz powder is generated under a plasma thermal source atmosphere due to RF discharge. Next, the primary preform is mounted in a mold and then a clad layer is formed by filling high purity quartz powder in the mold and pressing the powder. Finally, moisture and impurity are removed by heating the produced product in an electric furnace and then the product is molten under high temperature to make transparent glass.
