1,018,745. Vehicle door operating mechanisms. TOSHIN BUSSAN KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Sept. 22, 1964 [April 7, 1964 (2); April 8, 1964], No. 38533/64. Heading E2M. A vehicle door operating mechanism mounted in the door and controlled from a remote source comprises a reversible electric motor driving a shaft 12 via a planetary gear mechanism, the driving shaft being coupled by linkages 14, 16, 22 to operate a slider 24 to which is attached the actuating rod 26 which effects opening and closing movement through its engagement with a fixed frame away from the pivoting axes of the hinges of the door. The initial movement of the slide 24 causes latching means 29 to unlatch the door and axial movement of the actuating rod 26 is transmitted through a spring 27. The slide 24 runs on guides made of synthetic resin. |
