A rotor disc for a molecular vacuum pump comprises a disc D, Fig. 3 (not shown), formed with radial slots over an annular portion adjacent its periphery. The material between the slots is twisted out of the plane of the disc to form blades which project from both faces of the disc as seen in Fig. 5 (not shown). The blades may be flat or curved or the oppositely projecting portions Ll, L2 may be slightly inclined with respect to one another. A continuous ring C of metal is left at the periphery. To prevent the radial slots from cracking or tearing, a small circular hole T is formed at each end of each slot. Each hole is oblique to the rotor axis, but at an angle to the blades. |
