PURPOSE: A remote control transmitter is to recognize a viewer's voice command and to operate a television set by the voice, not by the operation of a keypad, thereby enhancing the convenience in use. CONSTITUTION: A remote control transmitter comprises: a microphone(21) for inputting a voice signal to control a television set; a voice recognition unit(22) for storing the voice temporarily and for recognizing it as a related code to output voice recognition code data; a control unit(24) for determining a specified command corresponding to the voice recognition code data and outputting a corresponding control signal; a memory unit(23) coupled to the control unit for storing the specified command for the voice recognition code data; a pulse generating unit(25) for generating a pulse code corresponding to the control command recognized according to the control signal from the control unit; and a pulse transmitting unit(26) for transferring the coded signal from the pulse generation unit to a receiving unit of the television set.
