PURPOSE: A theft prevention apparatus is provided to minimize the size of a receiver and reduce the power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A transceiver includes an EEPROM(11) for storing a plurality of identification codes of a theft prevention apparatus, a carrier signal generator(13) for generating carrier signal for modulation and transmit, a modulator(12) for modulating the carrier signal by using corresponding identification code, and an antenna(15) for transmitting the output signal of the modulator(12). A receiver includes antenna(51) for receiving the signal from the antenna(15), a tuner(52) for tuning the output signal from the antenna(51), a switch controller(54) for controlling the operation of a power switch(55) whether there is the output signal of tuner(52), a demodulator(56) for demodulating the output signal from the tuner(52), an EEPROM(58) for storing a plurality of identification codes, a discrimination part(57) to compare the stored code with the modulated signal to output an alarm signal, an alarm generator(59) for outputting alarm according to a control signal of the discrimination part(57).
