PURPOSE: A buffer descriptor for reception is provided to effectively store a memory by varying the memory size determined by a frame descriptor. CONSTITUTION: A buffer descriptor for reception comprises a header and a body. The header further comprises: a first pointer for indicating the next descriptor; a second pointer for indicating a start address of the body region; a first memory space for storing the size of the body; a third pointer for indicating a frame descriptor of frame data being received; a fourth pointer for indicating the frame descriptor of the frame data being processed by data -processing software; and a second memory space for writing whether the last frame data stored in the body is normally written. And the body includes n frame data regions storing the n frame descriptors and the received frame data corresponding to the n frame descriptors.
