METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ECHO-CANCELLING IN SATELLITE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for restraining an echo in a satellite communication system are provided to enable a subscriber to receive voice data with good reception sensitivity, by detecting a compression type of the voice data inputted, and set an echo delay time in order to remove the echo. CONSTITUTION: A compression type detection part(20) detects a compression type of the voice data inputted via a bus interface. A data extension part(30) extends the 8 bits-data transmitted from the compression type detection part(20) to 14 bits-data. A program selection part(40) selects an echo restraining program corresponding to the compression type of the voice data detected by the part(20). An echo restraining part(50) removes the echo of the inputted voice data. The echo restraining part(50) performs an echo removal operation for the voice data extended by the part(30) on a basis of the echo restraining program transmitted from the part(40).
