PURPOSE: A method for operating a transceiver of PCS(Personal Communication System) and maintaining an RF(Radio Frequency) terminal is provided to improve productivity in manufacturing a system, and reduce the cost for maintaining the system, by enabling a job to be performed in a remote controller, and thereby making it convenient to test a XCVU(transceiver Unit) and repair an error. CONSTITUTION: A TIP(Transceiver Interface Processor) of a base station is accessed by the remote controller. When the access to the TIP is made normally, a prompt is displayed, and the contents output from the TIP are applied to a monitor connected to an upper level. A remote controlled access from the TIP to the XCVU is enabled. The XCVU analyzes a message sent from a XMCU(transceiver Master Control Unit), and then performs an operation corresponding to the message. The data that are supposed to be output to a terminal are stored in a buffer, and then are sent to the TIP by a proper time interval. The TIP and XCVU perform an existing job continuously if they do not receive the message related to the remote controller from the upper level.
