PURPOSE: A method for preventing false detection of tire abnormality is provided to achieve an improved reliability while allowing a judgement on whether the acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle is caused by a speed change of the vehicle or a reduction of air pressure in a tire. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of calculating an average of speed of non-driving wheels and setting an average of the current and previous speed of non-driving wheels by the calculated average of speed of non-driving wheels, a second step of calculating a difference between the average of the current speed of non-driving wheels set in the first step and an average of the previous speed of non-driving wheels set in the first step and converting the calculated difference into acceleration/deceleration speed unit, a third step judging acceleration/deceleration by comparing the converted value in the second step with a reference acceleration/deceleration and setting an acceleration/deceleration flag according to the result of the judgement in the third step, and a fourth step of not alarming tire abnormality by judging whether the acceleration/deceleration flag is set and if it is determined that the acceleration/deceleration flag is set in the third step, if an alarm flag is set.
