PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency division multiplex communication device in which the time required for switching a faulty active system to a standby system can be reduced. SOLUTION: This communication device is provided with a changeover section 161, having a plurality of active system devices 102-110 and one standby system device 101 and with a changeover controller 162, including a computer circuit 164, an interface circuit 163 and an operation section 165. The frequency of the standby system device 101 is set in advance, in response to the frequency of the active system devices 102-110 by the switching logic of the computer circuit 164.
