PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressurizing and evaporating device which can ensure super-cooled storage of cryogenic liquid in a liquid phase in a storage tank while simply, rapidly and surely producing a high pressure pressurized gas through heating and evaporation by a single heating device within the tank. SOLUTION: A heating and evaporating device produces pressurized gas through heating and evaporation of cryogenic liquid in a cryogenic liquid storage tank, and is composed of a housing 3 having at least one liquid inflow port opened in the bottom part of the tank, a heating means 12 for liquid evaporation, and a steam pipe 5 through which steam bubbles generated through heating of the liquid in the housing by the heating means 12 are led from the upper part of the housing to the upper head space in the tank. The steam pipe 5 has a sufficient cross-sectional area so that steam or substantially pure steam alone having a volume larger than that of the liquid is discharged into the upper head space 4 from the upper end of the steam pipe 5 during operation of the device.
