The expansion joint consists of two sub-assemblies supported by a lower plate (6) with elongated holes for fixings, connected by a horizontal member (5) to an upper plate. The upper plate is in two sections (1, 7) with meshing toothed edges, and horizontal members (5, 12) supporting the two sections are connected by a nut and bolt (9) which breaks when the concrete shrinks. The joint is supported and guides relative to the slab by sliding tubes (11) and anchors (3. 10).
