摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in image read quality by detecting a noise and discriminating a fault in a lighting means when production of no noise is detected in all pixel data of a prescribed number so as to detect occurrence of leakage in the lighting means. SOLUTION: A read means outputs an image of an area lighted by a lighting means as a read image. A comparator 101 compares pixel data obtained by a read means from a reference white board lighted by the lighting means with a prescribed reference level to detect a noise in the pixel data. A noise occurrence state detection means detects presence of occurrence of the noise in the pixel data of a prescribed number. A fault detection means uses the comparator 101 to detect a noise and when the noise occurrence state detection means detects no noise in all of the pixel data of a prescribed number, presence of a fault in the lighting means is discriminated.
