PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording mark distortion from occurring due to difference of light absorbance between the recording mark and the other area at the time of overwrite by arranging a reflecting layer with high light transmissivity in a stuck surface type phase variable optical recording medium, and also to prevent an increase in jitter and defects in a track servo and a focus servo caused by ruggedness of an adhesive layer interface. SOLUTION: This optical recording layer has a stuck surface structure of a pair of substrates which have a recording layer, a reflecting layer, and a light absorbing layer in this order at least on one side of the surfaces and are stuck to each other via an adhesive layer. The recording layer is of a phase variable type with light transmissivity. The light absorbing layer has a light absorbance and the reflecting layer has a light transmissivity. The light transmissivity of the adhesive layer with a recording and reproducing wavelength is expressed by Ta>=80%, and the light transmissivity of the adhesive layer with a recording and reproducing wavelength is expressed by Td<=10%. |
