PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optic-magnetro-optical head which is small in size and is capable of performing recording of high density by making the head have a coil structure in which writing is possible even with a weak magnetic density while minimizing a current which is to be made to flow through a thin film coil for exciting use. SOLUTION: A solid immersion lens is embedded in the inside of a floating slider and a mesa part 13a which is projected to the side of a surface to be confronted with a recording medium and whose cross section is roughly a trapezium shape is formed integrally with the lens on the down surface of the lens. Moreover, a thin film coil for exciting use 14 is formed at sorroundings of the mesa part 31a and the coil width of the coil 14 is formed so as to become wider as the coil goes to the outer peripheral part. A first layer (lower layer) and a second layer (upper layer) are formed respectively so as to become the relation of A<B<C<D<E<F<G<H<I<J<K and the relation of a<b<c<d< e<f<g<h<i<j<k. |
