PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical start coupler effectively preventing an optical loss, preventing deviation of an optical signal or the output side, and improving the distribution performance. SOLUTION: In the optical star coupler 10, four pieces of optical fibers 11 are provided with two stages of paired branch connection parts ultrasonic-welded to each other from the upstream side toward the downstream side. Then, a mode scrambler part 13 holding respective optical fibers 11 between them in the state bending to a circular arcuate shape larger than a minimum bend radius is provided between the upstream side branch connection part 12 and the downstream side branch connection part 12. |
