PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a substrate for a silver halide photographic sensitive material which can be used even in a camera designed for a 135 type or brownie type photographic film, in development after photographing and in printing on photographic paper without causing transport trouble and can be produced without using a solvent. SOLUTION: The substrate for a silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer on at least one surface of the substrate is a polyester film having 350-480 kg/mm2 Young's modulus, 20-180% breaking extension and 105-125μm thickness. The sensitive material is for 135 type or brownie type cameras.
