PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a leading time from the energy-saving mode by eliminating communication information recovery processing to recover or delete communication information in the case that stored communication information is failed when the energy-saving mode is released. SOLUTION: A CPU 2 conducts various recovery processing wen it is started at application of power to conduct initializing processing to boot usually a facsimile terminal 1 while no recovery processing is conducted when it is started at the released energy-saving mode. On the other hand, in the case of start through the released energy-saving mode, the CPU 2 does not apply recovery processing of communication information in a communication information storage means and a SAF memory 7, that is, the CPU: 2 omits the recovery processing of communication information where presence of a fault in image information stored in the SAF memory 7 is checked and the faulty image information is recovered or deleted when any fault is in existence. The CPU 2 conducts usual initializing processing and then terminates the processing. Thus, the time required for the communication information recovery processing can be reduced.
