PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost push button switch, having a dimension corresponding to only one standardized wiring appliance to be attached without restriction, and having a high allowable current capacity. SOLUTION: This push button switch comprises a push-on operation part, a sucker 23b interlockingly moving with a setting operation of the operation part, a card 26 (26a-26f) for opening and closing a switch mechanism in cooperation with the sucker 23b, a sucked body 24 for holding the moved sucker 23b by suction, a return spring 27 for energizing the sucker 23b in the separating direction of the sucker 23b from the sucked body 24, terminals which are electrically connected to the switch mechanism and to which outer wires are connected, a handle returning spring for performing a set release operation of the operation part, and a case accommodating at least the sucker 23b, the sucked body 24, the card 26 and the return spring 27. When the set release operation of the operation part is performed, the sucker 23b is separated from the sucked body 24 behind a delay time caused by balance between a spring force of the return spring 27 and a sucking force of the sucker 23b to the sucked body 24.
