PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily insert a filter into a groove on the optical waveguide element at a low cost by slanting a filter grip band so that the elevation angle of one side of the filter will be within a specific range, and fixing the filter after the insertion into the groove. SOLUTION: A filter 4 and a waveguide element 1 are grasped with tweezers respectively, and an operator while peeping in a microscope grasps the filter 4 obliquely so that the elevation angleθof one side 4a of the filter 4 to the top surface of the optical waveguide element 1 is, e.g. 45 deg. previously. The elevation angleθvaries with operators, butθonly needs to be within a range of 0<θ<90 deg.. When the filter 4 is inserted into the groove 3 while the angleθis held constant, an edge part 4a is inserted into the groove 3 first. Once the filter 4 is inserted into the groove 3, the filter 4 can easily be inserted even if the filter is curved. In this case, the filter 4 may be fixed with an adhesive while slanting on condition that the filter 4 reaches the position of a core 2 where light is propagated. |
