PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which is capable of suppressing a sudden rise of the cost by improving the yield at the time of production, etc., and is easily connectable to an external device. SOLUTION: An optical signal transmission and reception device 1 as the optical device has a substrate 11, an optical waveguide 12, an LD(laser diode) 13, a pair of PDs(photodiodes) 14 and a filter 15. The substrate 11 has a reference lane 16 and V-grooves 17 recessed from this reference plane 16. Fitting pins 6 used for concentration to the external devices, such as connectors, are fitted into these V-grooves 17. The optical waveguide 12 is formed on the reference plane 16 and has a core 21 and a clad 22. The LD13 emits signal light of a first wavelength toward the core 21 and the PD14a. The filter 15 parts the core 21 and is disposed in the optical waveguide 12. The filter 15 is transparent to the signal light of the first wavelength and reflects the signal light of the second wavelength. The signal light reflected by the filter 15 is received by the PD14b. |
