PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tilt a peeling claw so that the top end of the peeling claw does not project when a door is opened and also enable checking the attachment of a cleaning means by providing a projective/unprojective restricting means which is provided on the door side and restricts the movement of the peeling claw. SOLUTION: When a door 16 is opened, a restriction means 24 moves apart from a reference part and is put in a projecting position against the force of the spring of the restricting means 24. The top end of the peeling claw 14 turns around a shaft 25 by moving the restricting means 24, thereby pressing the other end 27 of the peeling claw 14. The top end of the peeling claw 14 moves apart from a heat roller 17 by opening the door 16, and when the door 16 is opened completely, the top end of the peeling claw 14 tilts to be brought into an unprojecting state, and it therefore makes it possible to do the jobs of the maintenance of a fixing device 13, etc., without being hindered by the peeling claw 14. In the case that, for example, a cleaning means 31 is not attached to the fixing device 13 unintentionally, the restricting means 24 is not put in an unprojecting position because of the absence of the reference part 22 when the door 16 is closed, and a detection means 30 therefore does not perform detection.
