MAGNETIC ROLL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the production cost of a magnetic roll while maintaining and improving its quality by arranging a shaft into a metal mold cavity and molding a core having pockets in its outer peripheral part into the cavity in this state. SOLUTION: The shaft 80 is positioned into the metal mold cavity 140 by using a supporting part 138. The central line 86 of the shaft is so positioned as to be aligned to the central line 142 of the metal mold cavity in order to determine the central position of the shaft 80 within the metal mold cavity 140. The metal mold cavity 140 preferably has magnet channels 144 for positioning magnets 92 therein. Namely, the channels 144 are formed in the outer peripheral part 146 of the metal mold cavity 140. The metal mold 132 accepts a metal mold resin and executes molding operation under low pressure. The molding operation may be carried out in the state that the magnets 92 are positioned into the metal mold 132 and the magnetic roll 40 is disposed therein. The positioning of the magnets into a sleeve in succession to the molding stage is equally well.
